BS with Lucy Oglesby
Thursday Jun 13, 2019
Thursday Jun 13, 2019
Today, I hang with Lucy Oglesby, or as I call her, Miss Lucy. Lucy is a recent transplant to Louisville by way of Chicago and has a very cool story. She moved here in June of 2018 at just 17 years old to attend the University of Louisville’s Jazz Program. Who does that at 17? Miss Lucy, that’s who. We talk about her background in music, her love for the bass, more specifically, the upright bass and what it’s like being in the Louisville music scene at such a young age. We also have a lot of laughs and talk about our musical bond we formed from the first time we played together.
Lucy only uses Instagram so find her here…

BS with Scott T. Smith
Thursday Jun 06, 2019
Thursday Jun 06, 2019
Today on the show, I hang with an artist that I have been working with for several months. Scott T. Smith is young, talented musician from Hurricane, WV. Even though we’ve gotten close over the last few months, I still learned a lot from this hang. He wound up in Louisville through a chance meting with one of Louisville’s premier musicians, Ben Sollee. Since Scott has been in Louisville, he has made many connections and has played several gigs, both public and private. We sat down after a rehearsal for a wedding we were going to play and he was hired for that wedding when the bride saw him singing in a park. Yes, Scott is that good. Scott is a talented singer, songwriter & performer and he has a very bright future.

The RETURN OF David Payne
Thursday May 30, 2019
Thursday May 30, 2019
Today’s episode IS NOT A REPEAT!! David Payne is back with some things he wants to clear up regarding Louisville Music Studios and some of the changes being made. So, we sat down and had a chat about it. We still had some fun even though we talked about serious issues. He talks about the decision to do away with the hourly rehearsals, having past baggage and some health issues.

Bar Star Chapter One
Thursday May 16, 2019
Thursday May 16, 2019
This week, I decided to focus on the book. After all, I did start this show because of the book. So today, I read the first chapter. It sets up the theme of the book and it begins with my young teenage self where my musical journey started. It’s a little odd to read it aloud but kind of cool and liberating at the same time. Musically, chapter one is where it all started…

BS with Ben Noble & Steve Sizemore
Thursday May 02, 2019
Thursday May 02, 2019
Today on the show, I sit down with Ben Noble and Steve Sizemore, the two gentleman that I will be playing with on the run of Dilana shows in June. It was a cool hang because other than the group messages we’ve had, the three of us have never met. We got together, rehearsed some tunes for a few hours then sat down to have a chat. It was a cool experience to play with the two dudes in the same situation as me having also just met Dilana and been picked by her to go on tour. This was a good hang with some good humans and I am so looking forward to the shows in June! We talk about their time at NAMM 2019, how hey met and their musical backgrounds.

BS with Bob Rupp
Thursday Apr 18, 2019
Thursday Apr 18, 2019
Today on the show I have a cool hang with the extraordinary Bob Rupp. Bob signed me to my Sabian cymbal deal years ago and we’ve been friends ever since. We chat about all kinds of stuff, well, okay mostly drums and cymbals. We have some drum nerd moments in this episode and it’s fantastic. Bob has been through more than most people can fathom, both good and bad, yet he is one of the most positive dudes I know. From opening a drum shop that became one of the biggest in the country, to traveling the world, to playing drums all over America and having many Rock star drummer friends, Bob lives his life his way and to the fullest. He’s full of great stories and is eager to share them as well as some drum hits; when we recorded the show, he was sitting behind his drums. And neither one of us would have it any other way. Bob is truly, the very definition of a Good Dude.
Find Bob below. You’ll be glad you did…

BS with Dilana
Thursday Apr 04, 2019
Thursday Apr 04, 2019
This week I have a conversation with the one and only Dilana. I had my fan boy moment when I met her at NAMM this past January and she was kind enough to grant me some time to be on the show. Dilana is an amazing singer and I have been a fan of hers for years, hence my fan boy moment. She gained National attention in America when she was on a reality television show called Rockstar Supernova, which is where I first saw her and have been a fan since. She is originally from South Africa and she has a cool story about how she got to America and what she’s been up to since the TV show. We discuss some of her records as well as some of the amazing musicians she has worked with. She currently lives in Holland and she catches me up on her musical life and how she found herself in Holland (again) after living in Los Angeles for 12 years. This was a great conversation and I can’t her thank her enough for making time for me. You can find Dilana here…

BS with Tom Knight
Thursday Mar 28, 2019
Thursday Mar 28, 2019
The voice you hear every week at the beginning of the show belongs to none other than Tom Knight. This week, I had a chance to have a conversation (one of thousands) with Tom and we have a cool, laid back chat. Tom and I have been friends for many years and he was one of my drum instructors at AIM that helped me become a better player and through that, we forged a friendship.
Tom has had many successes throughout his career and we talk about many of them, including how he got started on drums, his early playing influences and how they changed, all the way up to him touring with TLC in the late 90s. Tom is currently a Voice Over (VO) Artist and has even won an Emmy for his work. He’s an awesome dude and this hang was long overdue and I know this episode will become a fast favorite! You can find Tom below…

Thursday Mar 21, 2019
Thursday Mar 21, 2019
This week on the show I have my very first Skype hang! Technology… I might figure it out one day. Today, I hang with my buddy, Steve Owens who is the host of Fascination Street Podcast. Steve lives in San Antonio and has had much success with his podcast as he gets great people to interview for his show. He has had several actors, comedians, musicians and even a couple of lawyers! We talk about his love podcasts, how he got his start, the direction of the show and where he gets his guests from. We also go all over the map with Squirrel Nut Moments but we had some fun and this was a great conversation. You can find Steve at the links below.
